My favorite mobile game
Game Dev Story has been a staple with me for mobile device game for a long time now. The game play is mostly simple and straight forward. The depth comes with really maximizing your studios team and output. you start with a team of 4 but this expands as in game time goes by. Different challenges exist with managing money to pay/train staff and advertise your games and company. Also the quality of your games factors in to a yearly awards ceremony and it actually feels like you did a great job when one of your titles wins a category. By endgame things can feel a little easy as by that time you have a good enough team or enough Boost abilities to make a constant stream of epic games. Would like to see some sort of "challenge" mode at the end like maybe having to make games maxed out in certain categories or maybe something for like contracts with publishers to produce a certain game of a certain quality. I will note that after a certain number of in-game years the game "ends". You can keep playing post game but highscores dont count. You instead can go on to a sort of "game+" mode where you mostly start over but keep the increased points for game direction earned in the last playthru. All in all a fun, light game with cute retro-pixel style art that is surprisingly addictive.
